MPS-i Battery Energy Storage System
Reduce cost and complexity of behind the meter battery energy storage systems

The MPS-i is a fully integrated battery energy storage system that combines our highly efficient, UL-1741 SA certified MPS-125 energy storage inverter with lithium-ion batteries in 1, 2, 4 or 6 hour configurations.
This integrated system contains all required protective features, as well as our system level integrating controller, offering a cost advantage when compared to non-integrated systems that require additional add-on items. Highly compact, it is easily deployed on a concrete pad, crushed stone or on the ground with a forklift and minimal labor, reducing system installation costs.
The MPS family is interoperable with other distributed energy resources including solar, wind, and diesel gen sets and can operate in both grid-tied and microgrid applications. Multiple units can be paralleled together to meet the sizing needs of any behind-the-meter installation.
Featuring our proprietary Dynamic Transfer™, it ensures consistent uptime by autonomously and immediately transitioning from grid-tied to battery backup power in the event of a grid disturbance. Additionally, our black start capabilities can restore power to your facility in the event of a complete power outage, without the need for an external power source.

Islanded Operation (UF Mode)
The MPS-i includes the ability to run islanded mode (voltage source) operation, also called UF mode. In islanded mode, the MPS-i accepts Voltage (U) and Frequency (F) setpoints. The MPS-i can handle full real power transitions with extremely tight voltage and frequency regulation forming a ‘stiff backbone’ to the microgrid.
Dynamic Transfer
Dynapower’s patented Dynamic Transfer™ algorithm monitors grid stability and, upon detecting a grid disturbance, disconnects from the grid and transitions to stand-alone battery backup power mode on the load connection. The transition is seamless to the critical loads and supports 100% phase imbalance in UF mode.
Black Start
In the event of a complete system power outage, our patented black start restores power to the facility without the need for external power. Dynapower’s black start technology can start distribution networks even with transformer magnetizing currents that exceed the power rating of the inverters. Multiple MPS-i units can be restarted at once.
Frequency Compensation Mode (F- Comp)
F-Comp monitors the grid frequency for deviations from nominal, and if a deviation exceeds a max allowed, the MPS-i will automatically follow a user-defined frequency correction curve. F-Comp is ideally suited to very rapid Fast Frequency Regulation applications as well as power quality correction of critical facility loads.
Volt-VAR Compensation Mode (E-Comp)
E-Comp monitors the grid voltage for deviations from nominal and automatically attempts to correct three-phase voltage magnitude deviations (usually voltage sags) experienced by a critical load in an effort to avoid the need to transfer to backup power mode.
