Adam Knudsen

VP, General Manager

Adam currently leads the daily management of Dynapower, including its ongoing growth into the clean energy market.

Adam has held many roles within the company since 1993 when he started as a Sales Engineer. He led the development of the company’s high-power rectifier and cast coil transformer groups, and later became the Sales and Marketing Manager. He has managed global sales and marketing, and spearheaded new market development, personally managing high-value strategic accounts. He also led the company’s growth into the energy storage and military power electronics markets.

Adam became Chief of Operations in 2004, overseeing engineering, manufacturing, and sales. He led the first large-scale market introduction of chopper, successfully penetrating the mining and electrochemical industries.

Adam graduated from University of Maine with a degree in Engineering Physics, with concentrations in Electrical Engineering and Economics.

Brandon Sorensen

Senior Director, Sales

As Senior Director of Sales since 2018, Brandon leads Dynapower’s Sales, Marketing, Product Management and Project Execution teams.

Brandon has more than 18 years of experience directing companies with revenues of $1 billion or more. He has led these companies through integration of multiple business units, survival, turn-around, and growth modes.

Prior to Dynapower, Brandon was Vice President of Sales for TPC Wire & Cable Corp., where he was responsible for global sales and created a key account strategy that drove sales through their most profitable customers, vertical markets, strategic distributors, and OEM customers. 

Before TPC, Brandon was Market General Manager for Barnes Distribution where he led new business development. In his sales leadership positions at both Barnes Distribution and OfficeMax Print & Document Services, Brandon took underperforming teams and grew them to top producers.

Brandon holds a Bachelor of Arts & Science degree from Bowling Green State University. He lives in Westlake, Ohio with his two sons and daughter.

Brent Blevins

Senior Director, Operations – Manufacturing

Brent joined Dynapower in 2022 as Vice President of Operations.  He has over 25 years of experience in both manufacturing and service focused businesses.  The last 15 being at hyper-growth companies transitioning through the $100+ MM range.  He is an experienced leader with a record of building successful teams.

Prior to Dynapower, Brent led operations for a $100+ MM, family-owned domestic apparel manufacturer.  Planning and executing on a 5x increase in manufactured volume.  Before that, Brent spent ½ dozen years doing operations management consulting for A.T. Kearney.

Brent received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona.  He also earned a MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Brent grew up in Colorado and lived in almost a dozen states before landing in Vermont with his wife, Lynn.  He enjoys nothing more than spending time with his family at the small, off-grid cabin he built.

Mark Woodmansee

Senior Director, Engineering and R&D

Mark, Senior Director of Technology for Dynapower, joined the company after spending two decades leading R&D organizations for power generation and upstream oil & gas industries. 

After receiving his BSME, MSME, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana (UIUC), he began his career at the General Electric (GE) Global Research Center in Niskayuna, NY.  As his leadership prowess grew, GE asked him to lead teams around the world: Bently Nevada in Minden, NV; Xin Hua in Min Hang, China; Sondex in Bramshill, England; GE Oil & Gas in Houston, TX.

Mark has experience leading large teams (200+ engineers and scientists) versed in mechanical, electrical, systems, physics, and digital engineering.  While he is proud of the 60+ cutting-edge products released during the past 20 years, he is equally fulfilled by the engineering leaders he helped nurture and grow in each organization.

Mark is currently the President of the UIUC MechSE Alumni Board.  In his spare time, Mark enjoys hiking in the Adirondack Mountains of NY with his wife and two children.

Renee Naud

Director, Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources at Dynapower since 2007, Renee leads the organization’s people, performance, and talent.

Renee is an accomplished corporate counsel and human resources executive with 25 years of experience in the manufacturing sector.

Prior to moving to Vermont, she worked for a world‐leading plastic packaging manufacturer with nearly $3B in revenue and more than 5,000 employees as in‐house legal counsel. She later served as Executive Vice President of Talent Management and as European Legal Counsel and liaison to the Global Legal Department in Italy. In this role, she led the enterprise’s European operations, including employment labor matters, corporate compliance, significant acquisitions, and commercial transactions.

She was also principal for Naud Law, PLLC, an independent legal consulting practice.

Renée holds both a BA in English and JD from the University of Detroit Mercy. She is a member of the state bars of Michigan and Vermont. She is also a facilitator with Cornell University online, supporting the Strategic HR Leadership and Employment Law Certificate programs.

Don Gill

Director, Engineering – Clean Energy & Defense Systems

Don joined Dynapower in 2004 and is currently responsible for all aspects of Dynapower’s large clean energy and defense projects—from proposal application designs and costing to the final shipped product.

Don’s contributions to Dynapower include expanding contract manufacturing capabilities and supporting the establishment of clean energy product lines in China and India.

As the company’s first degreed mechanical engineer, Don was responsible for implementing SolidWorks 3D modeling software as a key tool for the expanding industry-wide requirements for efficient and repeatable manufacturing. He served as Mechanical Engineering Manager for six years, leading an expanding team of mechanical engineers while supporting the design and release of manufacturing drawings across all product lines at Dynapower. He also served as Engineering Manager for the Power Systems and Advanced Systems groups and has led electrical and software engineers in addition to the mechanical team.

Don studied mechanical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and earned his BS in Engineering from the University of Vermont. He wrapped up his education with an additional two years of management-focused courses.

Matthew Paul

Senior Manager, Sales – Power Systems

Since 2021, Matt has led the power systems segment of Dynapower, taking responsibility for the mining, electrochemical, military, metal finishing, steel, and marine segments.

Matt previously held roles in Manufacturing and Aftermarket Service, growing the Aftermarket division by bringing new service and refurbishment programs to market, and creating a collaborative approach, outreach, and training process for customers. He spent his immediate post-college years working in aerospace while running his own business in the custom automotive & motorcycle industry before joining Dynapower in 2011.

Matt is a lifelong Vermont resident, graduating from Lyndon State College with a Bachelor’s in Business and Audio Production. He is based out of Dynapower’s corporate headquarters in Vermont and lives in Vergennes, VT with his wife and three children.

Branson Broadaway

Sr. Manager, Project Execution & Contracting

Branson is the Senior Manager of Project Execution and Contracting at Dynapower, having joined the company in 2020. In this role, he has successfully built a highly effective project management team. He is currently working to establish a Project Management Office (PMO), launch a Project Charter, and implement processes to support the company’s aggressive scaling initiative. With over two decades of experience in project management for EPCs, Independent Power Producers, and manufacturers, Branson has a proven track record of leading large-scale wind, solar, and battery projects to successful completion.

Branson is known for his exceptional leadership skills, including his ability to coach and develop his employees. He is detail-oriented, with a keen eye for identifying potential risks to project schedules and budgets while keeping the larger picture in mind. Branson holds a BA in Cinematography Production, an AS in Computer Engineering, and competed in NCAA Division I Alpine Racing while at Keene State College in New Hampshire. He has achieved a Green Belt in Six Sigma and holds an OSHA 30-hour certification.

Outside of work, Branson, his wife, and their two daughters split their time between Vermont and Utah.

Timothy Varhue

Director, Research & Development

Timothy currently leads the Research & Development team at Dynapower. In this role, he is responsible for product and technology development. He leads a team of firmware, hardware, and product management professionals to build novel products and solutions for challenging power conversion problems. His team works to shape and develop product offerings that have a positive impact on infrastructure electrification and the clean energy transition.

Recently, he has worked to launch Dynapower’s new line of products for utility scale ESS, C&I ESS, PV+Storage, and Green Hydrogen applications. He has worked on power electronic conversion technologies in a range of technical and commercial roles, spanning from the design of novel power electronic systems to the sale of integrated energy storage systems.

Timothy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vermont, and a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Melbourne. 

Jamie Mordarski

Sr. Manager, Aftermarket Operations & Maintenance

Jamie joined Dynapower in early 2024 to lead the AMS service teams. Jamie has over 25 years’ experience in power generation, renewables and service including nuclear, fuel cells, energy storage and PV. His extensive experience in PV, storage and O&M have led him to be an industry leader and expert in O&M, inverters, thermography and aerial scanning technology. Having been a speaker at many leading industry events over the years as well as a member of the NREL “Best Practices in O&M” research team and the NABCEP Veterans Leadership Team, he is familiar with cross functional collaboration, optimizing teams and thinking outside of the box to solve complex problems. Jamie grew up in Connecticut and joined the Navy after high school. He completed the Naval Nuclear Operators training program and was stationed on nuclear fast attack submarines on both the West and East Coasts as a nuclear power plant operator while also being a member of the Navy high power marksmanship team and winning many regional and national titles. While in the Navy, Jamie completed his BS in mechanical engineering from Concordia University and since then has achieved multiple PV/renewable industry certifications including those from NABCEP, ASNT and OSHA. Jamie is married, living in Connecticut with his 2 children including 1 in college. In his free time, he loves to travel, watch his son in sports, and collect WW2 militaria items.

Medina Maric

Senior Manager, Engineering – Power Systems

Medina leads the Power Systems Engineering Group at Dynapower, which is responsible for the design and technical sales of thyristor power supplies for plating and anodizing, switchmode power supplies with IGBT technology, medium-size specialty rectifiers for steel, and large multi-MW power supplies for mining, electrochemical, and centralized hydrogen applications.

Medina joined Dynapower in 2002 as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Her career began in Bosnia as an electrical engineer in a steel mill. Her experience includes switchgear design for General Switchgear and Controls LTD and Schneider Electric Canada, and power electronics/power supplies design for Inverpower/Satcon in Burlington, Canada. She fell in love with power electronics work with Rapid Power and has continued this work at Dynapower for over 20 years. She was promoted to Senior Manager of Engineering in the beginning of 2024.

Medina holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia. She is an active member of the Advisory Committee for Vermont Technical College and is involved with Vermont women’s organizations. She is fluent in English and Bosnian and is making progress in Spanish. Medina loves fishing, hiking, oil painting, and writing.

Nick Malmos

Senior Manager, Aftermarket Sales & Service

Nick has recently joined Dynapower to lend his experience in leading service organizations in the renewable energy space.  Having worked for some of the largest global manufacturers in both wind and solar, Nick is broadening his scope to include energy storage and the hydrogen economy. 

“My goal is to understand the O&M strategy of our customer so that Dynapower can offer a solution that best complements that customer’s inherent strengths …this is how we create value.”  Nick believes in enabling and empowering owners who wish to self-service while offering comprehensive solutions for those customers seeking to outsource a turnkey solution.

In his free time, Nick enjoys working on his farm outside Philadelphia and visiting his family and friends in Denmark.

Philip Scavone

Senior Contract Manufacturing Manager

As Senior Manager of Contract Manufacturing, Phil is a proud graduate of the University of Vermont and also holds a Certificate in Supply Chain Management from MIT. His career has been marked by valuable experiences at renowned companies such as Burton Snowboards and Keurig Dr Pepper.

When not immersed in the world of contract manufacturing management, Phil gravitates towards the natural beauty of Vermont. In the winter, you can often find him shredding the slopes of the Green Mountains, while in the summer, he enjoys fishing and boating Lake Champlain. He resides in South Burlington with his wife, two children, and a beloved canine companion.

Steve Kaplan

Director, Cost & Financial Planning

As Director of Cost and Financial Planning, Steve leads the finance function including key responsibilities of overseeing financial performance, aiding the company in achieving short and long-term financial goals, and managing financial planning and analysis and cost.

Prior to joining Dynapower in 2023, Steve held a variety of financial and strategy leadership roles during his 11 years with Guardian Industries. He led business startups and turnarounds, managed major capital investments and developed transformation initiatives. He spent five years abroad on international assignments across Latin America.

Steve has a degree in Accounting from Kent State University.

Tina Teale

Senior Manager, Controller

Tina joined Dynapower in 2021 as Controller where she directs and manages daily accounting operations, including the accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable departments. She oversees cash management, cost accounting and monitors Dynapower’s financial performance and financial condition by collecting and interpreting financial and operational data.

Before joining Dynapower, Tina served as Director of Finance with The Sugarman of Vermont, as Director of Finance and Operations at the Bishop John A. Marshall School, and as New England Accounting Manager for Ultramar.

Tina holds an MBA from Champlain College with a graduate certificate in Supply Chain Management and a BS in Mathematics from Johnson State College.

Tina’s service volunteer activities have included roles as Board Secretary for the Boy Scout of America (BSA) Troop 876,  BSA Merit Badge Counselor, and as Board Treasurer for The Clarina Howard Nichols Center. She previously held elected positions as Justice of the Peace in Hyde Park, VT and as a board member of the Hyde Park Town Board of Civil Authority.

Tina is an avid reader, enjoys organic gardening, and spending time with her children and partner of nearly 4 decades.

Ben Allen

Manager, Quality Assurance – Manufacturing

As the Manager of Quality Assurance and Safety, Ben’s team is responsible for ensuing Dynapower product is manufactured to meet the requirements our customers’ and is manufactured safely.

Ben joined Dynapower in 2017 as the Supplier Quality Engineer. During his time as Dynapower he has supported the Manufacturing Team, Dynapower Suppliers, and helped set up new Contract Manufactures. 

Prior to his time at Dynapower, Ben worked General Dynamic’s Electrical Boat where he was engineering support of the construction of submarines.

Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Craig Duncan

Manager, Manufacturing

Craig’s role at Dynapower includes full spectrum accountability for the manufacturing and production of Dynapower’s products, from incoming materials, to sub-assembly, to shipping finished products.   

An accomplished manufacturing and electronics professional, Craig has nearly 40 years of experience in manufacturing and the trades. He joined Dynapower in 2004 as a Final Assembly Technician, advancing through the organization in a variety of manufacturing and production roles with increasing responsibility. Prior to joining Dynapower, Craig worked as an accomplished Certified Journeyman Electrician for 23 years in the commercial and residential sectors.

In his professional development, Craig promotes positive attitude, teamwork, a strong work ethic, and accountability, mirroring Dynapower’s core values.  

While not working, he enjoys motorcycling on his Harley Davidson and riding his Sea-Doo with his wife of 34 years.

Medy Manares

Manager, Sourcing

Medy joined Dynapower in 2021 as Sourcing Specialist and assumed the role of Sourcing Manager in June 2023.  She leads all strategic sourcing efforts and is responsible for coordinating activities with other departments on  supplier evaluation and selection ensuring that relationships are established and maintained. She is facilitating the initiatives in outsourcing and contract manufacturing.

Medy has over two decades of experience in leading teams to optimize procurement in the tech and manufacturing sectors. Prior to Dynapower, Medy was consulting with GE Aviation and responsible for MRO contracts on engines and parts with Aftermarket Sales.  She was the Sourcing Commodity Manager at Enphase Energy where she led the strategic sourcing activities in the production of new generation of solar microinverters.  In her procurement leadership roles with Siemens Industry, Motorola and Marconi, Medy introduced processes that contributed to inventory reduction, streamlined supply base and cost savings. Medy was a member of the project team at Alcatel that enabled the release of its DSL technology and services. Her other supply chain roles were with Toshiba America MRI, DSC Communications and Mahi Networks.

Medy holds a Bachelor of Psychology degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.

She moved to the US in 1985 and lived in California for 25 years prior to moving to Ohio where she lives with her husband and daughter. She enjoys traveling with her family.  A foodie who likes trying cuisines from other cultures, Medy loves to cook and bake.

Mike Allen

Manager, Engineering – Power Systems

Since January of 2024, Mike Allen has managed the Power System Engineering Group, overseeing a team of electrical and mechanical designers and application engineering sales support.  They specialize in designing and supporting thyristor and IGBT based power converters, transformers, power system controls and aftermarket controls.  These systems are used in mining, metals processing, electrochemical, hydrogen, military and metal finishing industries. 

Mike started out with Dynapower for a summer position in 2004, leading to the roles of design engineer for eight years: power system electrical design, controls design, software development, field service, and applications engineer for six years; conceptual design, sales support, commissioning support. He even took a yearlong absence for an Army National Guard deployment and returned to Dynapower to work in the test department in high power systems, field service, engineering support.

Mike completed his bachelor’s degree from Vermont Technical College and moved to the engineering department in 2010.
