The evolution of efficient electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure is pivotal to reaching our clean energy targets. To that end, I am proud to announce our collaboration with ZOOZ Power , a leading EV charging innovator, on two promising pilot projects.
Driving Sustainable Mobility
At Dynapower, we’re known for providing reliable and flexible power conversion systems – in this application, ZOOZ utilized our MPS-125 inverters in EV charging stations. ZOOZ Power’s innovative system design uses flywheel technology instead of traditional battery-based energy storage. A key advantage of this design is that where batteries may start to lose performance after around 5,000 cycles, ZOOZ’s flywheel can handle 200,000+ cycles with no degradation in performance. This improvement means significantly less need for maintenance, improving reliability and reducing operational costs.
Another key feature of ZOOZ technology is the utilization of an intelligent Energy Management System (EMS), leveraging kinetic energy to dynamically adjust power distribution. This cutting-edge approach ensures optimized charging for multiple vehicles without overloading the grid, delivering faster, more reliable charging experiences for EV drivers.
The Pilot Projects
The first rollout of the Dynapower and ZOOZ collaboration was at a convenience store in South Carolina, followed by a second installation at a car rental terminal at LaGuardia Airport in New York. Because we have an extensive field service team, Dynapower took the lead on installation and commissioning of the first units. As the technology proves out, we look forward to further future collaborations with ZOOZ.
Conclusion
The collaboration between Dynapower and ZOOZ Power offers significant potential progress towards more efficient and sustainable mobility, and I’m proud to have been a part of this initial effort. Stay tuned for more information as the pilots progress into successful deployments.
