Behind The Power:
Jordan Fortier, EHS Specialist

Keeping Dynapower employees safe and productive
At Dynapower, safety doesn’t happen by accident. As our Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for Manufacturing, Jordan Fortier thrives on the daily challenges of maintaining a safe and healthy workplace while supporting employees across every aspect of our manufacturing operations.
Q: What do you like best about your job?
A: I’m responsible for occupational health and safety, ensuring we follow the applicable regulations for OSHA and the NFPA. When it comes to employee safety in the workplace, I’m responsible for chemical hazard training, chemical inventory, and hazardous waste disposal. I love the variety of tasks I perform, and that I’m involved in all different aspects of our business. I’m constantly learning new things and solving problems.
Q: What words would you use to describe the company culture?
A: I would describe the people I work with as supportive, friendly, and driven.
Q: In what ways do you influence the quality of the products here at Dynapower?
A: I hope that my influence comes in the form of support for the employees. As long as I can keep them at work, share important information about the work they do, and ensure that they have the tools they need to be successful, I feel like I’ve done my part.
Q: What is something you do in your job that is innovative?
A: Problem-solving. I am always attempting to solve either new or existing problems with the supervisors and the employees on the shop floor, and that keeps my brain running. There’s always something new to solve with all of the new products and new processes that come into the facility.
Q: What are some ways that you continue learning in your field?
A: Dynapower is a business that performs every aspect of constructing power systems. We fabricate our own enclosures, we wind our own transformers, we paint our own units, we assemble all of these things, and then we live-power test them in-house. With so many different things that we do, I’m learning something new every day.
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: I spend a lot of time outside. I have big dogs that I hike with. I love gardening and trying to grow my own food, and I have recently tried my hand at woodworking.
