At Dynapower, we take our commitment to the local community very seriously. As such, we organize company volunteer days where employees are encouraged to take a day to help out local organizations.
Our latest Dynapower Volunteer Day happened on Friday, October 18th in Burlington, Vermont.
Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity had been looking for eight volunteers to help out at their Convent Square project in Burlington. Dynapower was happy to fill all eight spots and our volunteers had a blast aiding in the construction of a home for a local family in need.
In addition to some carpentry work, our employees completed roughly 85% of insulation installation at the Habitat for Humanity property. Another employee also made and installed railings for the home’s back porch.
“It was awesome. We had so much fun,” said Hong Pan, Dynapower’s Human Resources Generalist. “Personally I’ve learned a lot of skills such as applying silicone sealant, measuring and cutting the insulation materials and installing the insulation materials.”
At Dynapower, all full-time employees can volunteer up to 8 hours per calendar year with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or its U.S. equivalent and get paid at their normal pay rate for the volunteer hours taken.
Dynapower employees have also used their volunteer days to help other local organizations such as the Vermont Food Bank and local trail building and recreation organizations like Fellowship of the Wheel.
